Product information
SureStep™ Microstepping drive
Open-loop stepping systems provide for simple and accurate control of position and speed where lower power and cost are considerations.
Move commands ("step" and "direction" pulse signals) from the Koyo DirectLOGIC family of PLCs or other "indexers" and "motion controllers" are "translated" by the stepping driver into precise movement of the stepping motor shaft.
For each pulse from the controller, the drive will move the motor "one step" in the direction indicated by the direction command.
Older type stepping drives which operate stepping motors in full step mode can result in stalling or lost motion due to potential problems with low speed mechanical vibration (usually between 100 to 200 RPM). To minimize this vibration problem, the SureStep™ stepping driver uses advanced microstepping technology.
The Advanced Programmable SureStep™ Drive STP-DRV-4850 offers great functionality and high current capability. Software-selectable resolution up to 51,200 steps per revolution provide smoother, more accurate motion and power capability up to 5A per phase.
This new drive accepts step and direction, CW/CCW pulse inputs, A/B quadrature inputs, 12 bit analog input (analog velocity mode); other features include a discrete speed command (oscillator mode), a joystick mode, and a built-in indexer.
The built-in indexer can use serial communications to configure and execute motion profiles on the fly.
Setup software available for purchase on CD or can be downloaded for free from our website.
